This workshop is one of a series that Community Law Canterbury is running about the new law. This workshop is for people and Committees who are just getting started and would like to learn more about the new incorporated societies law.

Who is this workshop for? 

This workshop is for people and Committees who are just getting started and would like to learn more about the new incorporated societies law.

Who can attend? 

Anyone who is a volunteer Committee/Board member of a local incorporated society, unless they are a lawyer, accountant, fundraiser or paid advisor to the sector.  Priority will be given to Community Law Canterbury clients, and groups funded by the Rātā Foundation and/or the Christchurch City Council.

What is covered? 

We’ll discuss:

  • the four key things your group needs to do if you want your group to keep operating after April 2026.
  • the main changes you need to know about, and
  • the options you have for getting your constitution sorted.

When?

We have workshops available on:

Wednesday 20th March – Lyttelton (morning - two hours)

Monday 25th March  – Hurunui (morning - two hours)

Friday 5th April – New Brighton (midday - two hours)

Wednesday 8th May  - Fendalton (midday - two hours)
